The most recent signal of dissent by the wrestlers has left the sports activities ministry upset. It’s been learned that the oversight committee held a virtual meeting on Tuesday and the first item on the agenda was to ensure the participation of the country’s wrestlers at the Zagreb Open Ranking Series tournament from February 1 to 5.
TOI is also in possession of a letter written by the United World Wrestling, the sport’s global governing body, extending its support to the oversight committee in ensuring the smooth participation of Indian wrestlers in international competitions.
“UWW stays at disposal to help this committee close to the situations and the administration of entries in worldwide competitions,” said the letter signed by UWW president Nenad Lalovic.
