The Philadelphia 76ers converted newly acquired guard Jared Butler from a two-way deal to a standard, two-year NBA contract on Thursday.

The Sixers acquired Butler and four future second-round draft picks (2027, 2028 and two in 2030) from the Washington Wizards in exchange for a 2026 first-round selection and veteran guard Reggie Jackson.

Since joining Philadelphia, Butler has played in three games (starting one) and averaged 10.0 points, 4.7 assists and 2.7 rebounds in just 17 minutes per game.

Butler, 24, gives the 76ers’ backcourt a boost as the team lost rookie Jared McCain to a meniscus injury in December.

In 123 games (three starts) for the Utah Jazz (2021-22), Oklahoma City Thunder (2022-23), Wizards (2023-25) and Sixers, Butler has career averages of 5.7 points and 2.4 assists in 11.5 minutes per game.
