Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis “is making good progress” with his left adductor strain but will be sidelined at least two more weeks, the team announced Thursday.

The veteran big man sustained the injury during his Feb. 8 debut with Dallas after being acquired in a blockbuster trade that sent fellow All-NBA star Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.

In 31 minutes against the visiting Houston Rockets, Davis collected 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks. He was 10 of 18 from the field before departing late in the third quarter due to the injury.

Davis, 31, missed the Mavericks’ next three games prior to the All-Star break. He will be sidelined for at least seven more contests — including a Feb. 25 road game against the Lakers — based on the two-week timeline.

Playing in his 13th NBA season, the 10-time All-Star is averaging 25.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.2 blocks in 43 games (all starts).

The Mavericks also signed center Moses Brown to a 10-day contract. Brown, 25, played in nine games this season for the Indiana Pacers and averaged 3.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 5.1 minutes. He has played for seven different NBA teams, including Dallas for 26 games (one start) during the 2021-22 season when he averaged 3.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 6.5 minutes.
