Guwahati, Assam: A day after Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted that he had assured actor Shah Rukh Khan over the telephone that the state authorities will guarantee no untoward incidents occur in the course of the launch of his movie `Pathaan`, the Assam chief minister on Monday stated the actor had messaged him requesting for the telephone name.
Addressing a press convention on Monday, the Assam CM stated, “Shah Rukh Khan sent me a message introducing himself and saying that he wants to talk to me.”Sarma stated he assured the famous person that there gained`t be any disturbance within the state across the launch of his movie.”I had many requests for phone calls, so after completing my queues, we spoke at 2 am. He had messaged me at 7.40 pm asking to speak on the phone. He said that some problems have taken place regarding his film`s release. I asked the name of his film, to which he replied it was `Pathaan`. Then, I told him that there would not be any disturbance over the film in the state,” he stated.
He added that he doesn’t have a lot curiosity in films and there are extra burning points that require his consideration.
“I am not much interested in movies and only know film stars from my boyhood. I didn`t know Shah Rukh Khan. I saw that our phone call was trending on social media. So many `Pathaans` come and go, we have more burning issues to care about,” the Assam CM added.
The Assam CM on Sunday stated that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan referred to as him late at evening and expressed concern over stories about protests by a rightwing outfit in Guwahati in opposition to the discharge of his movie. CM Sarma stated that he assured SRK that the state authorities will preserve legislation and order and guarantee no such incident takes place in the course of the launch of his movie.
“Bollywood actor Shri @iamsrk called me and we talked today morning at 2 am. He expressed concern about an incident in Guwahati during the screening of his film. I assured him that it`s the duty of the state govt to maintain law & order. We`ll enquire and ensure no such untoward incidents,” he tweeted.
On Friday, reacting to alleged protests by a rightwing outfit in Assam in opposition to the discharge of Shah Rukh Khan starrer `Pathaan`, Sarma stated he doesn`t know Shah Rukh Khan neither is he conscious of the film `Pathaan`.
Addressing a press convention on Saturday, Sarma stated, “Who is Shah Rukh Khan? Why should we care? We already have many Shah Rukh Khans?”
